The minimum salary for a family visa in the UAE is set by ICP, the federal immigration authority: a monthly income of at least AED 4,000, or AED 3,000 if your employer provides housing. Your job title no longer matters. If you hold a valid UAE residence visa that meets this rule, you can sponsor your family to live with you in Ajman. This works whether you are an employee on an Ajman employment visa or an owner on an Ajman Free Zone investor visa. The sponsor can be a man or a woman; the same rules apply.

The other UAE family visa requirements are about who you sponsor and where they live. You can sponsor your spouse, unmarried daughters of any age, sons under 25, and children with special needs of any age. You also need housing suitable for the size of your family. In Ajman this is a tenancy contract registered through Ajman Municipality's Tasdeeq system, or your title deed. Ejari is Dubai's system and doesn't apply to Ajman homes. Family visas for Ajman residents are processed by ICP (or your free zone with ICP), not GDRFA Dubai. If you work for an Ajman Free Zone company, the salary certificate is issued by the free zone.

Each family member's visa is linked to yours. It is valid for the same period as your visa and cannot run longer. If your visa is cancelled, theirs must be cancelled too. Before applying, check how long your own visa has left.

The main delay is usually the documents required for the family visa from abroad. Marriage and birth certificates issued outside the UAE must be attested in the issuing country, by the UAE embassy there, and by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a legal translation if needed. Start this early.

After the entry permit is issued, your family member enters the UAE (or changes status if already here). Family members aged 18 and over take a medical fitness test at an approved centre in Ajman. Each person needs health insurance and Emirates ID biometrics, then the residence is issued electronically. There is no passport sticker; the Emirates ID is the proof of residence. ICP expects this to be done within 60 days of entry.
