Dubai Investor Visa

Get your Dubai Investor / Partner Visa — UAE residence visa for shareholders of Dubai mainland and free zone companies. 2 or 3-year residency with full sponsorship rights for family.

Description

A Dubai Investor Visa (also called Partner Visa) is a UAE residence visa issued to shareholders, partners, and owners of Dubai mainland (DET) or free zone companies. It grants the holder full UAE residency rights including the ability to live, work, sponsor family members, open personal bank accounts, lease property, and access government services. The visa is typically issued for 2 years (mainland) or 2-3 years (free zone) and is fully renewable as long as the company remains active.

The Dubai Investor Visa requires an active trade license, share ownership in the company (minimum 1 share for most jurisdictions), Establishment Card / Immigration File, and standard residency steps — visa application, change of status (or entry permit), medical fitness, Emirates ID biometrics, and visa stamping. Processing typically takes 7 to 14 working days from application submission. The visa allows multiple entries to the UAE and the holder can sponsor spouse, children, and parents subject to income and accommodation requirements.

Octavon Global Advisory handles the complete investor visa process — eligibility verification, document preparation, application submission through GDRFA or free zone portal, entry permit / change of status, medical fitness coordination, Emirates ID registration and biometrics, and final visa stamping on passport. We also coordinate family visa applications if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the Dubai Investor Visa valid?

Mainland (DET) investor visas are typically valid for 2 years. Free zone investor visas are valid for 2 or 3 years depending on the free zone. Both are fully renewable as long as the company remains active and the shareholder retains their share ownership.

Can I sponsor my family on a Dubai Investor Visa?

Yes. Investor visa holders can sponsor spouse, children (under 18, or studying), and parents. Sponsorship typically requires meeting minimum income requirements (AED 4,000/month with accommodation or AED 10,000/month without) and providing a registered tenancy contract.

Do I need to be in Dubai to apply for an investor visa?

No. The application can begin remotely with an entry permit (visa to enter the UAE for status change). You need to be physically present in Dubai for the medical fitness test, Emirates ID biometrics, and final visa stamping — typically 5-7 days of UAE presence.

How long does Dubai Investor Visa processing take?

Standard processing typically completes in 7 to 14 working days from document submission. The exact timeline depends on the jurisdiction (mainland vs free zone), whether the applicant is inside or outside the UAE, and medical fitness scheduling.

What is the minimum shareholding for an investor visa?

Most jurisdictions allow investor visas with as little as 1 share (often equivalent to AED 1,000 or less). Some free zones have minimum shareholding thresholds. We confirm the specific requirement based on your company structure.

Can I work in another company on an investor visa?

Investor visa holders typically cannot take employment in another company without specific approval. The visa is tied to your sponsoring company. If you need to work for another entity, you would need an employment visa from that company (and cancel the investor visa).

What happens if my company license is cancelled?

If the sponsoring company license is cancelled, the investor visa becomes invalid. You will have a grace period (typically 30-60 days) to either transfer sponsorship to another active company you own, or change to another visa type, or exit the UAE.
